Canadian books nominated to the 2024 IBBY Honour List
IBBY Canada is proud to announce the Canadian titles that have been selected for the 2024 IBBY Honour List.
The IBBY Honour List is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honouring writers, illustrators, and translators from IBBY member countries. The IBBY Honour List is one of the most widespread and effective ways of furthering IBBY’s objective of encouraging international understanding through children’s literature.
The titles were selected by two IBBY Canada committees that can nominate one book for each of the three categories (fiction, illustration, and translation) in each official language. These books reflect the best in children’s literature from the country and are suitable for translation throughout the world. The English-language committee was chaired by Yvette Ghione with Meghan Howe. Josiane Polidori chaired the French-language committee composed of Anne-Marie Fortin and Isabelle Beaudin.
