IBBY Canada is delighted to announce that the Forest of Reading has been nominated for the IBBY-Asahi Reading Promotion Award 2026.
The IBBY-Asahi Award honours groups and institutions that make a lasting contribution to reading promotion.
In making the nomination, committee chair Dayle Sutherland wrote: “The Forest of Reading is Canada’s largest recreational reading program, engaging hundreds of thousands of young readers each year through a diverse range of Canadian books and reader-choice awards. We were delighted to nominate the Forest of Reading for this honour and to share its remarkable impact in promoting a love of reading on an international stage.”
The winners will be announced on 13 April 2026 at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

IBBY Canada nomme la forêt de la lecture® au prestigieux prix IBBY-Asahi pour la promotion de la lecture

IBBY Canada est ravi d’annoncer que la Forêt de la lecture® a été mis en nomination pour le Prix IBBY-Asahi 2026 pour la promotion de la lecture.
Le prix IBBY-Asahi rend hommage aux groupes et aux institutions qui apportent une contribution durable à la promotion de la lecture.
En soumettant cette candidature, la présidente du comité, Dayle Sutherland, a écrit : « La Forêt de la lecture® est le plus grand programme de lecture récréative au Canada, mobilisant chaque année des centaines de milliers de jeunes lecteurs grâce à une grande diversité de livres canadiens et à des prix décernés par le choix des lecteurs. Nous étions ravis de proposer la Forêt de la lecture® pour cet honneur et de faire connaître sur la scène internationale son impact remarquable dans la promotion du plaisir de lire. »
Les gagnants seront annoncés le 13 avril 2026 à la Foire du livre jeunesse de Bologne.
